byway: I have a full time job designing and making signage but I’m still technically an apprentice so every so often I get given tasks by my College, and the last one they gave me was to design and make a decorative wooden panel.
The College provided the wood, which we weren’t allowed to change the dimensions of, and the panel had to be hung vertically and also given a function.
These photos were taken before I’d actually finished making it (afterwards I added the rest of the girders and some black hooks so that the panel could be used as a key rack) and although the task was pretty pointless because it didn’t teach me anything, I’m pretty pleased with what I made. Especially seeing as I only made it in one afternoon without really planning it out.
